IMPERFECT PROTOTYPE: while supplies last.
PLEASE READ before purchase.
When I ordered the pre-sale factory prototypes, there was a minimum order of 15 decks. It was during the initial flip-through (video link below) — that I realized I accidentally had 2 Page of Wands in the deck…This is why we order prototypes. Oops!
Not being able to order 15 individual cards from the factory; I ended up ordering 15 of the missing Page of Cups from MPC to replace that little mishap. They are super close but not exactly the same.
This listing is for one of those remaining imperfect factory prototypes, as I don’t need a surplus of decks… nor does this affect their over-all reading capability.
The biggest difference is the corner rounding. On my personal deck that I use daily, I simply got a corner trimmer and clipped all of the cards so they match. Please look through the photos to see the difference in the cards.
By purchasing this listing, you are acknowledging the deck has 1 card that has been replaced(the Page of Cups) which is not cut the same and the back may have a slight color variation due to different factories producing them. Hence the discounted price and open box.
1909 RWS Tarot Deck, The Sawyer Redux Edition 2nd Printing
What’s in the box:
- Tuckbox
- 78 Cards 70mm x 120mm,
- 330 gsm black core card stock
(slightly thinner than the 350gsm of the first edition) - Smooth finish
Please note that the cards in my version are borderless and un-numbered, see below description for more information.
There are some slight changes from this version to the 1st Edition. We have teamed up with the same US based factory who printed our recent Felt Tarot to bring a 2nd printing of our very own RWS clone.
The major noticeable changes can be seen via the tuck box, we’ve gone with a lighter theme to match The Hermit, since we collectively are in a Hermit year (2025). The card backs also reflect the lighter, gray-blue tones with a little larger sized print of the mandala design.
Some cards have had minor revisions from deepening shadows of the scenery to little artistic accents… We’ve even zoomed in a little on some of the cards to bring the image fuller into display.
Check out THIS VIDEO FLIP-THROUGH to see the deck comparisons.
About the deck:
Artist Jamie Sawyer revisits the iconic imagery of the Rider-Waite Smith tarot universe, re-imagining it in her unique “style”.
Paying homage to the classic scenery the layouts remain intact — the colors and clothing, are similar and in some cases have been refined or simplified.
The cards in my version are borderless and un-numbered.
Instead you will find faint mandalas in the background that have the numbers, astrological or elemental correspondences. The people have also been slightly revisited to reflect the world in which we live. They show up as new actors in this familiar world.
