This is a DIY project.
This kit is a little more involved and would be good for those at a Medium skill level with Kinusaiga.
Maybe you already have a box of fabric scraps and craft tools as part of your arsenal. This kit is pared down for just the occasion!
Each half kit will come with what you need to get started!
- 6”x6” Foam block with double sided adhesive already affixed in place
- Vinyl line drawing affixed to block (this is your guide— the pieces will become your fabric templates)
- Color Map print-out
Optional custom made blank wooden frame available as an add-on.
Kinusaiga is the art of creating a painting using silk (or other fabrics). The origins can be traced back to Japanese textile artist Maeno Setsu who pioneered the technique in the late 1980s.
I have been extremely inspired lately by this technique. Creating artworks from my vast collection of line drawings. After sharing a few images on my Patreon and Social media, a few of you have expressed interest in learning!
